Alexandra Day, the former vice president for public affairs at Juilliard, has held a variety of roles at higher-education and performing arts institutions in Europe and the U.S., including Princeton University, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the office of Renée Fleming, the Metropolitan Opera, IMG Artists, Universal Music, and The International Herald Tribune.
Day is associate director at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, one of the world’s leading centers of theoretical research and intellectual inquiry, where she oversees communications, development, events, programs, and partnerships. Previously, she worked as Princeton University’s senior alumni affairs officer, providing strategic and operational leadership for a team of 50 charged with philanthropic marketing, education and travel programs, affinity groups, and regional affairs. Prior to Princeton, she was vice president for public affairs at Juilliard, where she led the school’s marketing, communications, editorial, website, and creative services functions. She has also served as the director of public relations at Lyric Opera of Chicago and director of communications for soprano Renée Fleming. Day holds a bachelor’s in comparative literature from Princeton.
